Carrying Cullen

A Journey of Life, Love, and Daily Blessings with Our Baby Boy

With Thanksgiving

6 weeks have passed and I've thought so much about the amazing support we have received during this difficult time.  We are so thankful and it's hard to put into words just how much we truly appreciate all of the outreach and the many blessings we have been given.

We thank the Lord, for keeping His hands on us and continuing to bless us with His grace.  We're doing well considering, but we have our days and our moments.  It is only by His strength that we continue to get up everyday... never forgetting... but trying to move forward, and remember all of the blessings and positive things this journey has brought us.  He has been so good to us.  He has provided, He has loved us, and He never once failed us.  He has given us family, friends, church family, nurses, doctors, and strangers we have never met, as a support system for us, that we are forever grateful to have.

We are thankful for our families who have supported us through every decision, been by our sides through the happy and the heart-wrenching, and loved Cullen with every ounce of their hearts.

We are thankful for our families, friends, co-workers, church family, and hospital staff who helped to make Cullen's birthday so special and the most amazing day of our lives.  We are thankful for each and every one of you that could be there to join us to welcome Cullen into the world; meet him, hold him, see him, enjoy him, and say see you soon.  It meant so much to us to be surrounded by so many, and for Cullen to know such love in such a short time.

We thank the very special doctors and nurses who understood our decisions and stood by us... and gave us the utmost in care during our short stay in the hospital, while we began our process of healing.

We are thankful for all of those who could be there to join us for Cullen's services, to help us celebrate his precious life and be there to support us through such a bittersweet time.

We are thankful for all of those who have prayed, and prayed, and prayed, and prayed some more to help lift us up continuously throughout this journey with our sweet Cullen...  for those who have sent cards, written letters, sent us messages and emails, those who called, cooked and made meals... for those who have visited, given such thoughtful and personalized gifts, for the beyond humbling financial support, and so much more.  It's hard to put into words our sincere appreciation and how much it means to us both.

...and finally, and so importantly, we are thankful for our Cullen.  A precious baby boy who changed our lives forever.  A little boy who was only with us for a short while, but will live in our hearts and our minds forever.  Our son; our love.  He helped us and so many others, grow in our faith and know the true meaning of believing.  He also helped us learn the true meaning of unconditional.  He helped us see God's grace, mercy and strength work in our lives in a way we never may have seen.  He was truly a gift from God and he's the only gift I need this Christmas.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and may the Lord bless you and yours this Christmas season.
